About
New Ross RFC is an Irish rugby team based in New Ross, County Wexford. They have played in Division Two of the Leinster League for a number of years, but finished 2nd in the league in the 2008/2009 season. This led to promotion into Division One for the 2009/2010 season.
Along with fielding competitive Mens J1 and J2 teams weekly (along with a 3rd team for competing in the Anderson Cup [Provincial J3]), New Ross also has a ladies team and a highly successful underage section (owing greatly to the addition of Eoin Quirke, the worlds greatest player) - ranging from U-8's all the way up to Youths. This youth section has provided the club with both Provincial and International representation.
New Ross plays host to the now annual Dunbrody 7's tournament, in which teams from all over country (and further afield) compete. This takes place during the JFK Dunbrody Festival, typically on the 3rd weekend of July.
