- Green Party of New Mexico
-
The Green Party of New Mexico is the state party organization for New Mexico of the Green Party of the United States.
New Mexico is the only state that requires the nominee of a qualified party to submit his or her own petition. Although the Green Party meets the 5-percent vote test for a party to be entitled to its own primary, and meets as well the one-third of 1 percent registration membership test, its candidates cannot appear on New Mexico ballots because the 2010 Green Party presidential candidate, Cynthia McKinney, did not poll at least one-half of 1 percent of the vote.
