It lies south of the town of Ribnica on the main road towards Dolenja vas. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local church, built outside the village to the east, is dedicated to the Saint Leonard and belongs to the Ribnica parish. It was built in 1843 on the site of a 14th century church.[3]
