The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Southeast Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local church, built on the southeastern edge of the settlement, is dedicated to the Saint Ulrich (Slovene: Sveti Urh) and belongs to the Sveti Gregor parish. It dates to the 16th century.[3]
