Biography
Nam Ji Hyun was born on January 9, 1990 in Seoul, South Korea. She carries the nickname NamGee, Nam-GeeGee (NamJiji). She is currently attending Sangmyung University, Dance Major specifically in ballet. Ji Hyun was a trainee from JYP Entertainment for 2 years but then ended up on Cube Entertainment. After joining the company, she joined and became the leader, vocalist and the lead dancer of 4Minute. Until her debut with the group, Ji Hyun had been the purest member and hadn’t done any CFs or advertisements.

Main article: 4minuteNam Jihyun was announced by Cube Entertainment as a member and the leader of the group last May 2009 together with Kim Hyuna, a former member of Wonder Girls. Cube Entertainment had released a teaser for their first single "Hot Issue" on 10 June while the single debuted on June 18. The group promoted the song from its release until August. At the end of August, 4Minute released a mini-album called "For Muzik" which was alongside their second single, "Muzik". 4minute won a mutizen award and a mnet award for their second single "Muzik". Their third single was "What A Girl Wants" was released shortly after the release of their EP.
The girls were then featured in fellow label-mate Mario's Christmas digital single "Jingle Jingle", which was released on 2 December 2009; the music video premiered online on December 3, 2009. They also recorded a remix with American artist Amerie for her song 'Heard 'Em All' that was released on the Asian version of her fourth album.[1]
Solo Activities
On October 14, 2010 Ji Hyun played a cameo role in thriller movie Late Night FM along with fellow band member Hyuna.[2]
On December 7, 2010 Ji Hyun made her acting debut in It's Okay, Daddy's Girl as Shin Sun Hae, a law student, a younger sister of Shin Seon Do, and also a friend of Hyuk Gi.[3]
Ji Hyun appeared in Lee Hyun's music video for "You Are the Best of My Life" on February 14, 2011 with Jung Juri. In the music video, Lee Hyun gets bewitched. He falls under the illusion that Jung Juri is Jihyun and falls in love with her.[4] [5]
Ji Hyun has been cast in MBC's weekend drama, A Thousand Kisses as Jang Soo Ah, the younger sister of Jang Woo Jin (Ryu Jin) is described to be the lovely and outgoing maknae daughter of a conglomerate, however, she’s also said to be a deep young woman who knows how to understand adults. [6]
