Naayika is an upcoming Malayalam film directed by Jayaraj. The film stars Jayaram, Padmapriya and Sharada .

Production

After the dismal performance of his few previous movies including The Train with Mammootty, director Jayaraj will once again be at the Box Office with the new movie Naayika. A take on the life of a yesteryear heroine, this movie will the have Jayaram, Padmapriya and senior actor Sharada ^[1] in the important roles. Naayika will have Mamta Mohandas playing the younger ages of Sharada ^[2].

Getting ready for a release on September 30, Jayaram will appear in a role with subtle comparisons with the 'evergreen star Prem Nazir'. Interestingly, the movie will feature songs by M. K. Arjunan^[3] and Sreekumaran Thampi who had composed for many Prem Nazir films.
