Sreekumar, popularly known as Jagathy Sreekumar or Jagathy, is a comedian actor in Malayalam cinema. He is considered widely as one of the best comedians in the history of Malayalam films.

Biography

Born on January 5 1950 in Jagathy, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. He is the son of noted dramatist and writer N. K. Achary who, much like his son, is also known as Jagathy N.K. He has two children : Rajkumar, who is a bank employee and Parvathi (Lakshmi) she is a Law student,and married.

Career

Jagathy was a Class V student at Model School in Thiruvananthapuram when he first got the opportunity to act in a play. By the time he joined Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram he had become an experienced theatre person. His work in the film earned him recognition. With 1,070-odd Malayalam films to his credit, he is reckoned as one of the best actors in the industry.
