Circulation

In terms of readership, it is India's fourth largest English language newspaper. The "Deccan Chronicle" is Hyderabad's largest circulated dailyFact|date=February 2007. The other English language newspapers of Hyderabad are the The Hindu and The Times of India that have a significantly lower readership.

The newspaper has a total of nine editions, seven published from various parts of Andhra Pradesh (Vishakapatnam, Karimnagar, Nellore, Rajahmundhry, Vijayawada, Secunderabad, and Anantapur) and one each from Chennai and Bengaluru. The Chennai edition, the newspaper's first edition published outside Andhra Pradesh, was first printed on 28th March, 2005. The Bengaluru edition was launched on 26th May, 2008.

Since June 2008, the newspaper formed a business news partnership with the "International Herald Tribune". The IHT would publish a branded business section in the "Deccan Chronicle". One of the interesting features of the newspaper are its cartoons. It has two cartoonists, Subhani and Sudhir Tailang. The cartoons of Subhani appear daily on the front page as "Counterpoint". The cartoons of Sudhir Tailang appear in the inside pages. The newspaper also publishes articles from other newspapers and magazines like The New York Times and The Spectator.Its reporting team comprises senior journalists like ChVM Krishna Rao, CR Gowri Shanker, Syed Akbar, N Vamsi Srinivas, B Krishna Prasad, M Roushan Ali, and Udumula Sudhaka Reddy.Also called "DC" by most Hyderabadis, the newspaper's main office is on Sarojini Devi Road, near the "Clock Tower" and Hotel Basera in Hyderabad's twin city of Secunderabad.

Deccan Chargers

The Deccan Chargers IPL franchise is owned by Deccan Chronicle. The Deccan Chargers represent the city of Hyderabad at the 2008 Indian Premier League. The media group acquired the franchise from IPL auction for $107 million on January 24, 2008. Group M later picked a 20% stake.

Other media

The Chennai Chronicle which has recently initiated an alliance with Sulekha.com titled 'Blogprint' creates a platform for local bloggers to be printed in the paper.

Both Deccan Chronicle and Andhra Bhoomi are owned by T Venkatarami Reddy who is the cousin of Congress MP T Subbirami Reddy.

It is generally considered to be biased towards congress and slightly against non congress parties like TDP and PRP.In Andhra usually all newspapers are biased.While Deccan Chronicle,Asian Age,Sakshi,Andhra Bhoomi,Vaarta and Andhra Prabha favor Congress other newspapers like Eenadu,Andhra Jyothy etc favor non congress parties.
