Museum of Optical Technologies

Museum of Optical Technologies functions as part SPbSU ITMO. Its overall objective is acquaintance of young men to achievements modern optical both an information technology and motivation of their further studying.

Overview
The museum is located to the address 14, Birjevaya line.

It has been opened on December, 16th, 2003[1] in the former premises of laboratories of Rurrian State Optical Institute with support Saint Petersburg City Administration.[2] In 2009-2010 educational year it is planned to open an interactive hall for employment of schoolboys.[3]

Exposition

The exposition is located on the ground floor of a building and consists of 3 halls.[4]

The first hall
Here the collection of art and computer hologrammes, real holographic installations, stand of Yuri Nikolaevich Denisyuk was a founder of the colour holography, training stand of "a holography Basis" is collected..[4]
The second hall
Here the collection of bronze mirrors and antique fixtures, samples gnomons, astrolabes, armillary spheres, reading stones and ancient points, stands about the nature of light and the sight mechanism, a collection of spectral lamps, stands on photo stories is presented; demonstrations "magical mirrors" and "camera obscura"..[4]
The third hall
In a hall the panorama on stories of Venetian glass, the interactive catalogue of Abbe is a unique collection of 144 optical glasses, samples of the first laser cores and fiber-optical elements is shown; real industrial equipment..[4]
