Mr. Nice is a 2010 crime film directed by Bernard Rose, and starring Rhys Ifans with Crispin Glover and Chloë Sevigny. The film tells the story of Howard Marks, a notorious Welsh drug smuggler; the screenplay was adapted by director Rose from Marks' autobiography of the same name. It has yet to receive a theatrical release, but made its worldwide premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Texas, United States, in March 2010[1] and its UK premiere at the Edinburgh Film Festival in June 2010.[2]

Response

The film received mixed reviews after its release. People claimed it to be 'inappropriate' and 'disappointing'. Critics said that Rhys Ifans gave the 'performance of his life' and portrayed a convincing Howard Marks. The film is an account of Howard Mark's biography that shares the same name of Mr. Nice which, although was successful on release, became more popular when the film was released.
