Numerous Indian (Sandlewood, Bollywood, Tollywood, Kaliwood, and Hollywood) movies have been shot in North Karnataka.

Hampi,[1] Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole and Bijapur in North Karnataka are the hot spots for shooting movies.

  • The Myth : English - The Myth movie shot at Hampi starring Jackie Chan and Mallika Sherawat in lead roles.
  • Mungaru Male : Kannada - Song Anisutide yako indu was shot in Lakkundi and Gadag District
  • Veera Madhakari : Kannada - This movie was shot at Badami, Pattadakal and Gajendragad. Sudeep acted and directed the movie Veera Madhakari.[2]
  • Ondanondu Kaladalli : Kannada - Shot in Shirasangi, Dandeli forest, Synthery rocks. Directed by Girish Karnad and Shankar Nag is in lead role.
  • Nammoora Mandara Hoove : Kannada - Shot in Sirsi and Yana. Directed by Sunil Kumar Desai and Shiv Rajkumar with Prema and Ramesh in lead roles.
  • Shivani : Kannada - Song Matte matte ninna nenapene by Sonu Nigam was shot in Badami
  • Number One : Kannada - Aihole, Bijapur and Badami
  • Kadhalan : Tamil - Prabhu Deva and Nagma acted in the lead roles in this movie and was shot at Pattadakal. Kadhalan was dubbed as Premikudu in Telugu and Humse Hai Muqabala in Hindi.
  • Siruthai :Tamil - Badami[3] Tamil Actor Karthi's Siruthai shooting in Badami.
  • Vikramarkudu : Telugu - Major portion of this movie was shot in Badami
  • Chandamama : Telugu - Entire movie was shot in Hampi
  • Magadheera : Telugu - A part of this film was shot in Pattadakal
  • Brindavanam : Telugu - Part of this film, with Jr NTR in lead role, was shot in Badami, Gajendragad.
  • Nagavalli : Telugu - Part of this film was shot in Badami with Venkatesh in lead role.
  • Shakti : Telugu - Part of this film, with Jr NTR in lead role, was shot in Badami and Hampi.
  • Guru : Hindi - Bhutanath Temple Badami, Halakatti Bangalow Bagalkote. The wedding scene of Guru was shot at Bhutanath Temple, Badami. Maniratnam was a director of this movie.[4]
  • Abhimaan : Hindi - Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bhaduri playing lead roles was shot near the Malaprabha river at Asoga near Khanapur in Belgaum District. The entire song Nadiya kinare was shot here.
