Mount Mohl

Mount Mohl (78°33′S 85°5′W / 78.55°S 85.083°W / -78.55; -85.083) is a mountain (3,710 m) at the east side of Vinson Massif, surmounting the ridge between the heads of Dater and Thomas Glaciers, in the Sentinel Range, Ellsworth Mountains. First mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1957-59. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Commander Edgar A. Mohl, U.S. Navy, hydrographic officer on the staff of Commander, U.S. Navy Task Force 43, during Deep Freeze Operations I and II, 1955–56 and 1956-57.
