The Mosque “Sinan Katibi" or "Katip Sinan Qelebi", or "Kâtib Celebi" or "Katip Çelebi" Turkish: Sinan Katip Camii[1], is located on the Adem Jaschari Street in Prizren, Kosovo. Turkish: Katip means Secretary in Turkish (tr:wiktionary:katip). It may be named after Katip Çelebi[2] but it also maybe named like the Plaošnik mosque in Ohrid, [3] The mosque in Ohrid was named after Sinaneddin Yusuf Çelebi, short form Sinan Çelebi, from the Ohrizâde family.[4]
It was built supposedly in 1591.[5][6] It was repaired in 1893–94 based on an inscription.[7]
