Acer pictum subsp. mono, commonly known as Painted Maple or Mono Maple in English^[1], Kaeda Itaya (板屋楓^?) or Ezo Itaya in Japan^[1], or 五角枫 (wu jiao feng) in China^[2], is a species of maple.

Description

Acer pictum subsp. mono grows 15-20m tall and a trunk that is 60-100cm wide.^[1] It's leaves have 5-7 lobes.^[1][2]

Distribution

The tree is native to Japan, Korea, China, Mongolia, and the Russian Far East.^[2][3]
