Monica Teen (Turma da Mônica Jovem) is a Brazilian comic created in 2008 by Mauricio de Sousa and spouse Alice Keiko Takeda. The series features Monica's Gang and all their 15-year-old friends.

History

Plots are centered on the adventures of the now teenage gang. Typical elements of the teenage life, like love, school, friends, nightclubs and parents are present in the stories. At the release of the comic, de Sousa said^{[citation needed]} that Monica Teen would be talking sometimes of safe sex and pregnancy, but Maurício chose not to talk about that problems and such, to keep a more family-oriented image of the magazine.All Monica Teen was made in Brazil.

• Angelos/Angel/SkyBoy/Sephiroth/Angelic (Ângelo/Anjinho/Céuboy/Céufiroti/Angélico) - Helps Mr. Falconi to find and collect mystical artifacts. His wings grew larger^[when?] and he has the Divine Reach Sword (Espada do Divino Alcance).
• Blu (Bidu) - Frank's dog. He keeps the appearance and energy of a puppy due to a special ration developed by Frank, which keeps him rejuvenated.
• Vanilla (Mingau) - Margaret's cat. He married Oats (Aveia), and filled the house with kittens, to the dismay of Margaret's father, who is allergic to cat hair.
• Mary Angela (Maria Cebolinha) - A girl of ten. Both fond and jealous of her brother Jimmy.
• Marina (Marina) - Frank's girlfriend, and friend of Monica, Margaret, Denise and the other girls.
• Eddy (Dudu) - One of the youngest of the original gang, he is a pre-teenager.

• Doreen (Dorinha) - A special girl, who is visually impaired.
• Christa (Cascuda) - Friend of Denise and Marina.

• Luca (Luca) - He is a special boy, still in a wheelchair. His favorite sport is basketball.

Books

Two books were released in Brasil, with the titles "Things that the Boys Should Know" and "Things that the Girls Should Know". They often talk of puberty, relationships and sexuality. More books will be published.
