The Mint Club Genre Nightlife Headquarters Leeds, West Yorkshire Website themintclub.com The Mint Club is a late-licenced nightclub in Leeds city centre[1]. It is located on Harrison Street, just off New Briggate, nearby to many other popular bars and clubs. It has a relatively small capacity (550 people) but is famed for both its nights, such as Back2Basics, and its "legendary"[2] atmosphere.
The club underwent a £500,000 refurbishment under new owners in 2008, which included a cutting-edge lighting system called a "Disco Panel", the first of its kind in the country.[2]
Widely regarded as the best "small club" in the UK, in 2010 Club Mint was placed at number 24 on DJ Magazine's annual list of the top 100 clubs in the world.[3] Popular with both DJs and clubbers, it is one of Leeds's prime venues for house/techno-electro music along with Club Mission and Victoria Works.
Over the past 11 years[when?] the club has seen some of the worlds top DJs and has a bright outlook for 2011 as it continues to hold some of the most popular nights in the north: System, Louche, Filth as well as student events throughout the week.[4]
