Mindy Finn

Mindy Finn is an American businesswoman, political consultant, and digital media strategist based in Washington, DC.

Career

Finn is partner and co-founder of Engage, an online media strategy company.^[1]

Most of Finn’s work focuses on technology’s impact on politics and democracy, and she has built tools and programs to empower individuals to organize and shape policy.

Finn has worked on or led digital programs for President George W. Bush, Governor Mitt Romney, Governor Bob McDonnell, and Governor Tim Pawlenty.^[2]

She began her career as a Congressional correspondent for the Waterbury, Connecticut Republican-American and as a staffer for Senator Mike Enzi (R-WY) and Representative Lamar Smith (R-TX).^[3]

Finn is a highly sought-after panel expert and lecturer and has spoken at the South by Southwest Interactive conference,^[4] the Personal Democracy Forum, the Brookings Institution, the Edelman Academic Summit, the Shorenstein Center on the Press, Politics and Public Policy at Harvard University, the Milken Institute, the American Political Science Association Summit, Kellogg’s Media Management Center at Northwestern University, the New Politics Institute at the University of Texas, the American Association of Political Consultants, Politics Online, Konrad Adenauer Foundation (Germany), and Fundacion Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Dominican Republic).

She is also an adjunct professor at The George Washington University’s Graduate School of Political Management, teaching a class on Campaign Organization & Execution.^[5]

Finn was named a “Tech Titan” by Washingtonian Magazine in 2011,^[6] a “Rising Star” by Campaigns & Elections Magazine in 2007,^[7] and a “Top 10 Political Powerhouse under 30” by Glamour Magazine.^[8]

In addition, Finn has appeared on MSNBC, Fox News, C-SPAN, NPR and other media channels to provide political commentary.^[9] She is regularly quoted in print publications, including Politico.^[10][11][12]

Early Life and Education

Finn grew up in Kingwood, Texas, a suburb of Houston.^[16]

Finn holds a master’s degree in political management from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree from Boston University.^[17]
