The company uses a massively-parallel grid infrastructure for email storage and processing.[2]
History
Mimecast was founded in 2003 by Neil Murray. It is headquartered in London and maintains offices in Cape Town, Boston, Johannesburg, Stockholm and Dubai[3].
In 2009, the company was awarded "Online Product of the Year" by the Legal Technology Awards[4] and named a ‘cool vendor’ in archiving by Gartner.[5]
In January, 2010, the company raised $21 million in Series B financing[6] from Index Ventures and Dawn Capital.
