Ankara, TurkeyNationality Turkish Mimar Kemaleddin or Mimar Kemaleddin Bey ("mimar" meaning architect in Turkish) was an important Turkish architect of the very late period of the Ottoman architecture and the early years of the Turkish Republic.
He was the father of the composer İlhan Mimaroğlu.
Portrait on the Turkish Lira
On 2009 a new series of Turkish lira banknotes went into circulation; the reverse side of the 20-lira banknotes depicts Mimar Kemaleddin, together with one of his major works, the rectorate building of Gazi University.
He is one of the creators and followers of the First National Architecture Style in Turkey.
