Mike Castro de Maria is an electronic music composer from Cannes, France.

Mike Castro de Maria was born in Geneva in 1972 to a Galician father who had fled the Franco dictatorship and a Franco-Italian mother. His street name is a combination of his origins and he decided to use it as his stage name for its Latin touch, which reflects his aspirations and music sources.

Castro de Maria got his start in the music world as a roadie, in particular for the band "Dirty Side"; he travelled with them to concerts in the South of France.

At fifteen, he started on the bass, which led him to appear with different bands on the Côte d'Azur. But the various musical styles that he tried were not in alignment with his musical influences and expectations, which were less rock than "caliente". In 1991 he formed the band "Loi 91-32", a venture that was to last more than a year.

In 1994 at the Blitz nightclub, he met Charlotte & Max, the future founders of Twiggy Records. Max, an experienced night-time DJ on the Riviera, introduced him to the richness and variety of electronic music as well as to various of the most prominent artists, such as Lady B, Scan X, Didier Sinclair, Adolphe, and Green Velvet, etc. They would work together in organising the incredible "Transillusion" parties.

Full of these influences, in 2005 Mike Castro de Maria released So sweet lounge, his first resolutely lounge and cocooning album. In 2006 he met Anne Moreau, who made available her incredible voice and wrote the lyrics for the wild "Live goes". It was a fruitful collaboration; he decided to re-record and co-write a new version of his single "Mr Brown" with Anne to come closer to his original idea which he had not been able to realise.

Sweet Sugar Lounge, the second work in this series, has been available since June 2007.

In December 2010, after 2 years of work on different tracks, the "Winter games" Single is released. This is an electronic drum & bass track that permit he to increase the spectra of his musical research.

February 2011, the first opus of the Ultrasonique series is released: Tempus fugit. Ultrasonique is a concept of old-school electronic chill-out tracks who mix world music, ambient and chil-out for refill your soul and take a deep breath.
