History
Athletic fitness club owner Richard Hart sold his ten Hart's Althletic Club facilities in 1998, giving his children Seiji and Meiko Hart the opportunity to found a new fitness endeavor. Mieko's Fitness was thus born in 1999, beginning with single locations in Magnolia, WA and Edmonds, WA. [1]

Current operations
Mieko's Fitness has about six clubs in the greater Seattle area. Besides Washington, it has affiliate clubs in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Texas.
