First discovered in 1960 in the Grumantbyen area, they were thought to be the Common Vole until a genetic analysis correctly identified them in 1990.[2]
Distribution and habitat
The sibling vole mainly lives in meadows and agricultural environments, in an area delimited by central Finland to the North and the Balkan Peninsula to the South.[2]
