Background

Yebba landed a job on the Boston Fire Department as a firefighter in 1998, where he would serve for almost 5 years. An off the job injury introduced Yebba to pain medication and soon he was battling a severe addiction to the narcotic Oxycontin. In summer 2001, the by now former firefighter's involvement in crime to support his drug habit spanned video store robbery, counterfeiting, and included a spree of armed robbery holding up a series of pharmacies in the Greater Boston area.[1][2]

In May, 2002, Yebba's crime spree came to an abrupt end with his arrest on 9 separate warrants. Facing multiple years in prison, Yebba finally managed to get clean of his addiction. Yebba has maintained his sobriety and his life as a drug addicted criminal is behind him.[1][2]

Later career

While in the aftermath of his arrest, Yebba began penning an autobiographical work entitled "Fallen Hero". Determined to turn his life around and keen at the possibility of telling his story and helping another avoid his situation, Yebba turned his unfinished autobiography into a screenplay named The Fallen.

Since then Yebba has had acting roles in several films and television series', including the Brian Goodman-directed What Doesn't Kill You alongside actors Ethan Hawke and Mark Ruffalo, and The Town directed by Ben Affleck and starring John Hamm, Jeremy Renner and Blake Lively. Yebba continues his writing and has since penned several feature films such as horror–slasher The Hamilton House, Angel's Guardian and Rush Back. He also has 2 television projects in development, Affair of Honor and Knocked.[1][2]

Michael Yebba made his Directorial debut with the Award winning short film Bad Blood (2011) and the recently completed Ordinary Man (2011) starring Ethan Embry, Brian Scannell and Ramiro Torres.
