Mike Wissot is a political pollster and market research specialist. His firm, SymAction Communications, has offices in Los Angeles, CA and Washington, DC. Wissot is an adjunct professor of communication at Pepperdine University.[1] He often appears as a political analyst for KABC (AM) talk radio and various television networks, covering the 2008 presidential campaign. Wissot has a weekly appearance on Al Rantel's "Political Shootout," and he serves as a guest talk show host on KABC.
During the 2004 presidential campaign he was a Vice President of Luntz Research Companies, responsible for the famous "Audience Response" focus groups depicting EKG-like lines to measure public opinion toward President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry during their convention speeches. The technology measures how voter react, second by second, to individual messages. Wissot was also responsible for many voter outreach campaigns to the Jewish Republican constituency in 2004, during which he wrote a controversial article in the Jerusalem Post, suggesting that the GOP was more aligned with the Jewish community's interests. Wissot received his political start by working for United States Senator John McCain (R-AZ) in both Washington, D.C., and Phoenix.
In 2002, Wissot was the unsuccessful Republican nominee for the 41st District of the California State Assembly,[2][3] losing to Assemblymember Fran Pavley by 62 to 35 percent.[4] Between 2000 and 2006, Wissot was Managing General Partner of Dentistry.com, an online dental referral company, which he sold to 1-800-DENTIST in 2006.
Wissot received a BA from James Madison University in 1996, an MBA from the University of Arizona in 1998, and a MIM from Thunderbird School of Global Management in 1999.
