Olympic medal record Men's basketball Silver 1980 Moscow Italy Michael ("Mike") Sylvester (born December 10, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is a basketball coach at Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy and former Olympian.
Biography
Sylvester graduated from Moeller High School and played college basketball at the University of Dayton. He was drafted with the 15th pick in the sixth round by the Detroit Pistons in the 1974 NBA Draft and won the silver medal on the Italian team at the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow. Sylvester is a current resident of Loveland, Ohio.[1] At 6'5", he is an accurate shooter. Throughout his career in Italy (1977–1990) he played for Olimpia Milano, Scavolini Pesaro, Basket Rimini and Virtus Bologna.[2]
