Personal life

Maloney was born in Salem, Oregon, and grew up in Los Angeles, CA area.[5] He dropped out of school at 10th grade due to problems with dyslexia.

At 17 he travelled the Western United States selling auto equipment. At age 23 he started his own sales firm, Maloney & Associates. The company was modestly profitable, but eventually went bankrupt.[citation needed]

In the 1980s, Maloney became a designer and manufacturer of high end stereo equipment, winning several engineering and industry awards[citation needed]. In 1992, his stereo amplification electronics were selected as one of five permanent exhibits at the royal Victoria & Albert Museum [6] in London.

In the 1990s, he launched a successful high-end audio design and manufacturing firm know as "T.H.E. Show".[7]

In 2000, Maloney's father died and he became trustee of his family's estate. This is when Maloney states he started to educate himself. It was the same time Apple had incorporated a "text to speech" program in every Mac operating system. This program enabled him to learn without his dyslexia being an issue.[5]

Based on his findings, in 2005 Maloney incorporated Gold and Silver, Inc. In 2010, he incorporated Mikemaloney.com
