It's located about 10 km northeast of the centre of Tallinn, situated just northeast of Tallinn's subdistrict Mähe before the village of Randvere. Metsakasti has a population of 532 (as of 1 January 2011).[1]
Metsakasti is connected to the centre of Tallinn by Tallinn Bus Company's route nr. 38 (Viru keskus – Muuga), average traveling time is about 30 minutes.
