The Metropolitan New York Rugby Football Union governs more than 80 men's and women's clubs, college, high-school, and youth rugby union teams in the Greater New York metropolitan area, which covers parts of the states of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York. It is a member union of USA Rugby and the Northeast Rugby Union. In conjunction with the Referee's Society of New York, Met NY manages and fosters rugby for approximantely 100 men's and women's clubs, college, high school and youth rugby teams in Northern New Jersey, Metropolitan New York, Long Island and Fairfield County, Connecticut.
Met NY RFU is governed by a board of directors and managed by a number of officers, all of whom are currently volunteers. 2010 officers are: President: Toby Butterfield; Vice president: Matt Persanis; Treasurer: Ted Perkins; Secretary: Renee Ovrut; Divisional representatives (listed below, all of whom are also board members); Collegiate chair: Matt Kosiorowski; Assistant Collegiate chair: Ali Nazir; High School/U19 coordinator: Dan Yarusso; Disciplinary chair: Eric Scott; NRU director: Jason Brown; Medical Advisory Board coordinator: Vic Lopez; Fields coordinator: Kieran Holohan; Youth Development Officer: Justin Knight; Director of Development: Junior Blaber.
The Met NY RFU maintains a website, a page on Facebook and a Twitter feed. The Met NY RFU has hosted all manner of events and incoming tours, including Oxford University, England Counties, USA Collegiate All-Stars, HMS Invincible; annual NYPD v FDNY matches; USA Rugby's National All Star 7s Championships in 2009 and 2010, and Northeast Rugby Union's Regional Mens Playoffs in 2009 and 2010. Met NY also regularly runs clinics, coaching seminars, and now offers medical conferences and meetings and roundtables to promote good administration and help improve the quality of play.
Met NY RFU also sanctions all USA Rugby teams in the area, runs the Met NY Summer 7s series, and approves and promotes all tournaments in the area. It also administers regional competitions leading to natianals at all levels of rugby, from men's and women's Division 1 through boys' and girls' U-19 rugby clubs, and sponsors or supports youth tag or touch rugby teams, PSAL teams and the Mayor's Cup.

White Plains U-19 Rugby
White Plains Youth Rugby League The Under 19 rugby club in White Plains is the newest addition to the WPRFC organization. The team includes youth from the White Plains Area who excel in the game of Rugby. Teams of 15 and 7 players are fielded. The Under 19 program has showed great success due in part to its team leaders; Oscar Salazar at hooker, Michael Spector at Scrum Half, and Christopher Best at Eight Man.
