Meridian Glacier

Meridian Glacier

Meridian Glacier (68°45′S 66°37′W / 68.75°S 66.617°W / -68.75; -66.617) is a broad glacier, 9 nautical miles (17 km) long, which flows south along the west side of Godfrey Upland and joins the Clarke Glacier between Behaim Peak and Elton Hill, in southern Graham Land. Finn Ronne and C.R. Eklund of United States Antarctic Service (USAS) travelled along this glacier in January 1941. It was photographed from the air by Ronne Antarctic Research Expedition (RARE) in November 1947, and it was surveyed by Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey (FIDS) in December 1958. So named by United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) because the glacier flows from north to south along the meridian.
