Mercedes-Benz Arena Former names Shanghai World Expo Cultural Center Location Shanghai, China Built 2007 Opened 2010 Operator AEG Surface Flooring Architect ECADI Capacity 18,000 Tenants none The Mercedes-Benz Arena is a new indoor arena, in Shanghai, China. The arena was home to the Expo 2010 Shanghai China venue. The facility seats 18,000 people. It hosted its first event on August 22, 2010: "World Wrestling Entertainment in China".[1]
Concerts
South Korean boy band Super Junior held their concert last March 5, 2011 as part of their Super Junior third Asia Tour Super Show 3 Tour.
American DJ and music producer DJ Shadow is scheduled to perform in the Mixing Room in the arena on September 30, 2011.[2]
South Korean boy band TVXQ will hold their TVXA Asia Fan Party on December 9,2011.
New upcoming name
The arena will be sponsored by Mercedes-Benz [3] and will be called Mercedes-Benz Arena starting in 2011.
