Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) was established in Accra, Ghana in 2008, by Meltwater Group and its non-profit Meltwater Foundation.[1] The school trains young Africans to become software entrepreneurs through a two-year curriculum. Students work with business executives, university graduates and current MBA students to develop software applications and prepare them for launch in the global marketplace.

- MEST opens in Accra, the capital of Ghana, with the first class of Entrepreneurs In Training (EITs).

- The first class of EITs graduates from the MEST training program.
- The MEST Incubator launches and provides seed funding for first group of incubated companies which are former MEST EITs.

- March
- Nandimobile Ltd, a technology startup founded by MEST graduates, receives an award at the LAUNCH Conference in San Francisco.[2]
