Me, Myself an Eye Studio album by Charles Mingus Released March 1979 Recorded January 19 - 23, 1978 Genre Jazz Label Atlantic Producer İlhan Mimaroğlu Me, Myself an Eye was an album of music by jazz musician Charles Mingus, recorded in 1978 at Atlantic Studios in New York, NY. Though Mingus did not perform in this album, due to his battle with ALS, he wrote the score and dictated each song in person or through the use of piano sketches and tapes. The album includes the songs Three Worlds of Drums, Devil Woman, Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting.
In regards to the song "Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting, Mingus states " I heard this as a child when I went to meetings with my mother. The Congregation gives their testimonial before the Lord, they confess their sins and sing and shout and do a little Holy Rolling."[citation needed]
