History

MaXposure Media Group, LLC, was incorporated in Miami Beach in 2006 by Vikas Johari (Publisher) and Jorge Arauz (Editor-in-Chief & Editorial Director). The first office was set up at 1111 Lincoln Road, South Beach, Miami, Florida. The pilot issue of the flagship magazine, ANDpersand (a.k.a. &) was created from Johari's dorm room during his senior year at the University of Miami, where he studied with Arauz[2].

Indian Launch

In late summer 2006, Johari incorporated MaXposure Media Group (India) Pvt. Ltd. in New Delhi. In Fall 2006, ANDpersand (India) was launched as a quarterly in Mumbai. It marked the 1-year anniversary since the magazine's pilot issue was created. In Jan. 2007, the magazine was converted into a monthly publication. It was one of the first magazines in India to focus on the luxury segment[3].

Expansion

In addition to ANDpersand, MaXposure Media Group (India) has launched various publications in different genres including AndMore (Fashion & Style), Forms (Interior Design & Architecture) and The BEAT (City & Lifestyle)[4].

The company also has a creative solutions, advertising and marketing division, MaXcom; an online outsourcing division, MaXposure Digital; and an events division, Equator[5].

In Aug. 2009, the company began publishing SpiceRoute for SpiceJet Airlines. The in-flight magazine is the second contract publishing project for the company after Beyond Luxury[6].

In Oct. 2009, MaXposure Media Group (India) launched the Indian edition of Italian hair & beauty magazine Estetica (India). It marks the magazine's 25th international edition[7]. Since Nov. 2010, MaXposure Media Group Middle East FZ LLC also publishes Estetica (Middle East). The magazine is published in English and Arabic and is distributed across the Gulf Cooperation Council countries including UAE, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Bahrain[8].

In June 2010, MaXposure Media Group (India) acquired the license for FHM (India) from Next Gen Publishing Ltd. and Bauer Media Group in the UK. The men’s magazine officially launched in Aug. 2010 with Lisa Haydon on the cover[9]. FHM is the UK's biggest men's lifestyle media brand[10].

In Summer 2010, MaXposure Media Group's fully owned subsidiary; MaXposure Corporate Media Pvt. Ltd. launched Touchdown Magazine and MercedesMagazine (India). The former is the official magazine of Mumbai International Airport and published for GVK and MIAL; the latter is published exclusively for Mercedes-Benz India customers and was launched by Vidya Balan & Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India[11].

In Sept. 2010, MaXposure Corporate Media Pvt. Ltd. acquired the rights to publish Elite Life for ICICI Prudential customers as well as Diabetic Living (India) under license from Meredith Corporation. A month later, Elite Life was launched[12]. In May 2011, MaXposure Media Group launched Diabetic Living (India), a quarterly magazine distributed nationally on newsstands, inside hospitals and to medical professionals and diabetics throughout India[13].

In Summer 2011, after winning a bid to publish the in-flight magazine for Air India, India's oldest and largest airline[14], MaXposure rebranded the title as Air India Magazine. It features editorial coverage in both English and Hindi[15] and reaches more than 2.5 million readers monthly[16].
