TalibanMaulana Sami ul Haq (Urdu: مولانا سمیع الحق) is a Pakistani religious leader and a politician. He is known for his close ties to the Taliban and has been referred to as the "Father of the Taliban".[1][2] He has also served as a member of the Senate of Pakistan.[3]
Sami ul Haq is the chancellor of the Darul Uloom Haqqania, a Deobandi Islamic seminary which is the alma mater of several Taliban leaders.
Politically he is the leader of his own faction of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam political party, known as JUI-S.
