Career in Italy
Lanzano began his professional career with Piacenza[1] but failed to make an appearance for the Biancorossi during his career with the Serie B side. He was released in 2009.
In pursuit of first team football, Lanzano dropped down to Serie C level with Poggibonsi[1] in 2009 where he made 20 league appearances before leaving in June 2010 for Gavorrano the following season.[2] Lanzano played 16 times for the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione side.[3]
He took part with the Italy U-17 squad at the 2006 UEFA European Under-17 Football Championship, debuting against Andorra.
Swindon Town
On 4 July 2011, Lanzano was confirmed as Paolo Di Canio's fifth summer signing for Swindon Town by signing a two-year contract and joining fellow Italian footballers Alberto Comazzi and Raffaele De Vita at the Wiltshire club.[4][5]
