Mathematica Policy Research

Mathematica Policy Research is a policy research organization with offices in Princeton, New Jersey; Cambridge, Massachusetts; Chicago, Illinois; Washington, DC; Ann Arbor, Michigan; and Oakland, California.[1] The company was formed as a division of Mathematica, Inc., in 1968; by 1975, it was incorporated under its present name. In 1986, the firm became employee-owned. It has three divisions, health, human services, and surveys. Mathematica's research fields include disability, early childhood, education, family support, health, labor, and nutrition.

The company offers policymakers a unique combination of evaluation expertise, direct data collection services, and insight into the socioeconomic issues that drive public policy. Its clients include federal agencies, state and local governments, foundations, universities, and private-sector and international groups.

Mathematica's president is Paul Decker. Its research centers include the Center on Health Care Effectiveness, Center for Improving Research Evidence, Center for Studying Disability Policy, and Center for Studying Health System Change.
