† Appearances (Goals).Mathias Kouo-Doumbé (born 28 October 1979 in Drancy, Seine-Saint-Denis), often nicknamed Mat Doumbé,[1][2] is a French association football defender who currently plays for the Milton Keynes Dons, having signed for them on August 7, 2009.
He started his career as a central midfielder, with French club Paris Saint-Germain, before joining Scottish Premier League club Hibernian in 2001. Doumbe did not initially feature in the Hibs side, remaining with the club on a series of one-year contracts.[3] He eventually established himself in the Hibs side as a centre-back during the 2003–04 season, but he rejected the offer of a new contract.[3]
Doumbe then joined his former Hibernian manager Bobby Williamson at Plymouth Argyle on a free transfer. In May 2008, Doumbe signed a two-year extension to his contract, as he became Argyle's longest-serving outfield player, second only to compatriot Romain Larrieu.[4] Doumbe had his contract with Argyle cancelled by mutual consent in August 2009.[5] He signed for the Milton Keynes Dons on 7 August 2009. He played his first game for the club against Hartlepool United the following day.[6] He scored his first goal for the club against Wycombe Wanderers on 19 September 2009.[7]
