Massage Heights was founded in 2004, in San Antonio, Texas to be the premium massage retreat chain that offers a tranquil atmosphere, experienced staff, soothing services and convenience at an affordable price.
History
Massage Heights was founded by Wayne Bentley Evans and his wife Shane L. Evans as a franchisor in the industry of membership-based massage therapy.[1] Massage Heights began with the opening of the pilot location in Alamo Heights, Texas, a small town in the heart of San Antonio, Texas.
Less than a year after the pilot location opened there were two additional locations launched in San Antonio, where the corporate headquarters is located. Following the appointment of Glenn M. Franson to President and CEO, the spread of franchises throughout the United States began[2], followed shortly by the establishment of Massage Heights Canada Ltd.[3] in Canada by Peter H Thomas giving the company an international status.
With more than 70 operating franchises, the company is second largest franchisor in it's industry competing with such franchises as Hand & Stone, La Vida, Zen Massage Center and Massage_Envy.
