Mary Ann Lutz is the current mayor of Monrovia, California.
Lutz was elected mayor in April 2009, defeating Stephen Grollneck in the process.[1] Before running for mayor, she was a member of the Monrovia City Council since 2003, and was re-elected in 2007.[2] Lutz graduated from Boise State University in 1982, gaining a degree in Theater Arts.[3]
Lutz has been appointed chairperson of the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board, member of the San Gabriel Valley Council of Governments, chairperson of the SGVCOG Environmental and Energy Committee and Water Working Group, and member of the Los Angeles County Integrated Waste Management Task Force. Lutz has also won many awards, such as the California State Senate Woman of the Year in 2005, Business Life’s Woman Business Leader of the Year in 1997, the California State Small Business Award in 2004, and the Sam Walton Business Leader Award in 1997.[4]
Lutz is married to her husband Corey and is also president of the Lutz and Company corporation.[5][6]
