Martin Schibbye (born October 17, 1980) is a Swedish journalist and former editor, currently living in Stockholm.

Career
Schibbye became editor of the newspaper Rebell very early in his life.[1] After military service in Strängnäs 00-01, he graduated a B.A. in political science and an M.A. in economic history. Today he is a freelance journalist with a foreign profiling.
He has worked as a foreign correspondent for several newspapers, including The Times, Amelia and Proletären.[2] He has worked in several different countries, including Algeria, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, Cuba, Venezuela, Syria, Libanon, Palestine, Thailand and Vietnam. He has been the editor of the quarterly Iraksolidaritet and monthly magazine Folket i Bild/Kulturfront. Recently he worked for the magazine Filter.
Arrested for suspicion of terrorist crimes in Ethiopia
On July 1, 2011 Schibbye was arrested along with the Swedish photographer Johan Persson in Ethiopia suspected of terrorist crimes after that, from Somalia illegally entered the Ogaden region in the company of guerrillas Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF).[3]
Awards
In 2011 he was awarded Robespierrepriset Prize for his journalistics.
