Martin Bushnell House was built in 1892. The owner, Martin Baldwin Bushnell was born on July 13, 1837 in Mansfield, Ohio to William Buhsnell 1800-1893 and Mary Bentley 1812-1848. He married Elvera Snyder on Dec 31,1863. They had Charles in 1865, Irene in 1866, William in 1868, Ella in 1875, and Fredrick in 1877. He wen to Norwalk College and Dennison University. He worked on the Chicago and Philadelphia railroad for four years and was a banker in my locations in Ohio. In 1897 he was nominee for state senator. He also erected the " Jonny Appelsead" statue which stand in the Sherman-Heinman Park. Bushnell was a wonder devoted man of the Richland County Community. Martin Bushnell died on May 1, 1923 in Mansfield, Ohio.
