Career highlights and awards Stats at ESPN.com Marcus Forston is an American football defensive tackle. He currently attends the University of Miami in his junior year. Forston was considered one of the best defensive tackles coming out of high school in 2008, and has been compared to Warren Sapp.[1] He has also been called “maybe the best nose tackle prospect in the past five years” by Rivals.com.[2]

High school career
A three-year starter at Miami Northwestern High School, Forston was part of the 2007 national championship team as chosen by USA Today.[3] As a senior in 2007, he made 92 tackles, 20 sacks and forced seven fumbles while being double-and triple-teamed. Named first-team All-State, he also often lined up at tight end on goal-line situations (he caught one touchdown pass). As a junior in 2006, Forston made 65 tackles and 21 sacks as school won the 6A Florida state championship. His older brother, Dustin, played college football at Ole Miss and FAU.
Forston made numerous All-American teams, including USA Today, Parade, and EA Sports. He played in the U.S. Army All-American game. Considered a five-star recruit by Rivals.com, he was ranked the No. 1 defensive tackle in the nation.[4] He chose Miami over Notre Dame, USC, Tennessee, and Alabama, calling Miami the "dream college right around the corner from my house."[5]
College career
Playing as a true freshman, Forston had an important role in the Hurricanes' rotation, recording 17 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and three quarterback sacks for the season. He is nicknamed “Big Boom” by his teammates.[6]
Forston subsequently earned multiple All-Freshman honors, as he was named to FWAA′s Freshman All-America team,[7] College Football News′ All-Freshman first team,[8] and Rivals.com′s 2008 Freshman All-America team.[9]
In 2009, an ankle injury kept Forston out for most of the season.[10] He earned a medical redshirt for the 2009 season.
