Mankri is famous for its production of mango. The village has given a notable contribution to the nation, including many freedom fighters, soldiers, businessmen and people in administrative services. There are many prominent names in the village identified with mango production, such as Suresh Tyagi and their partners and other Tyagis.
The main caste in Mankri is Tyagi. Family of the late Ch Bhawani Singh Tyagi is the leading family in this village.
Shir Vaid Chuttan Lal Dwivedi was one of the renowned person of Bulandsher was born in Mankri.
