It has many ponds including one drinking water pond. People's main occupation is paddy cultivation. Sankranthi festival is the main festival they used to celebrate, since that is time farmers get Kharif crops. There are many temples like Ramalayam, Hanuman, Krishna, Nandhi, Nagendraswamy temple etc and churches located in the village. Major family surnames in this village are rayapureddi, dintakuthi, boyana, yalavarthi, pamu, dasari etc. Recently rebuilt the Ramalayam by R Veera Kutumba Rao garu and his father R.Pothuraju garu (did Sankusthapana) with major donations from Rayapureddi Ramesh, Sarraju etc. The rebuilt work is monitored by old Committee members. President of the village is Y.Chintanna garu as powered by congress leader Sri Rayapureddi Veera Kutumbarao garu who recently changed to PRAJA RAJYAM and Back to Congress. For Ramalayam & Hanuman temple, there is a committe. Recently "committe" members changed. Now for Hanuman temple, floor & inner walls are covered Tiles which are donated to Achyuta Saamulu & Sons.
