It was established in 2004 as a member of the group Manav Rachna Educational Institutions. Manav Rachna College Of Engineering is affiliated with Maharishi Dayanand University,[5] in Rohtak. It is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education,[6] a division of the state Ministry of Human Resource Development. It has been accredited as an 'A' grade institute by National Assessment and Accreditation Council.[7] It is also accredited by Tata Consultancy Services[8].
Contents
Campus
MRCE campus is in Sector 43, Faridabad located 05 km from Delhi on Delhi-Surajkund Highway. It is surrounded by Aravalli Hills, close to the national capital.
Programs
The institute works with global organisations including the Commonwealth of Learning, the education arm of the Commonwealth of Nations, and the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre of Asia (CEMCA) to develop learner-centred programmes in radio jockeying tailored for open learning.[9]
MRCE offers four degree programs:
- Four-year undergraduate Bachelor of Technology degrees in
- Two-year postgraduate Master of Technology degrees in
- Two-year postgraduate Master of Business Administration degree.[14][15]
- Three-year postgraduate Master of Computer Applications degree.[16][17]
Admissions
B.Tech
Students seeking admissions to B.Tech courses appear for the AIEEE exam conducted by CBSE every year in April. Students who qualify this exam exercise their choices at the centralised online state counselling conducted by HSCS(Haryana State Counseling Society) in June. With only a few seats available, only those securing a good rank can expect to be admitted to the institute. Admission in to the first year of the B.Tech program can only be obtained through this route.[18].
Students who have a three year diploma from a recognised polytechnic in the state can directly get admission to the second year of the B.Tech program through the LEET Exam. LEET is an online exam organised by the HSCS, usually held in June. Only a limited number of seats are filled through this route.[19]
M.Tech
Admissions to the M.Tech course is given to candidates who qualify in GATE with Bachelor’s degree in respective branch of engineering or technology from any Indian university included in the approved list of AIU (Association of Indian universities) securing at least 60% marks in aggregate.[20]
MCA
Students seeking admission to the three year MCA course appear for an entrance exam OLET-MCA-2010 conducted by Haryana State Counseling Society. The qualified students of this exam exercise their choices at the online state centralised counselling organised by SCBH. Students are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with 50% marks with mathematics as compulsory subject at 10+2 level or Graduation level or B.Com/BCA or any other equivalent examination recognised by the university.[21]
MBA
Students seeking admission to the three year MBA course are required to have minimum 50% marks in Bachelor’s or postgraduate Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto and have to appear for admission test 'MAT' conducted by AIMA.[22]
Training and Placement
The Training and Placement department helps MRCE graduates get jobs. MRCE is accredited by Tata Consultancy Services.[23] MRCE graduates have gone on to work in several large corporations, including Accenture, Infosys Technologies, Mahindra Satyam, Larsen & Toubro Infotech, NIIT Technologies, Nokia Siemens and Dell.[24][25][26]
IEEE Student Club
MRCE is the one of a few pvt. colleges in NCR having an IEEE Club to promote professional competencies of the graduates. Various workshops and contests are organized in association with this organization.[27]
ECO College
MRCE in 2008 became certified by The Energy and Resources Institute for being an environment conscious institute in NCR region. The members of Renewable Energy Club are actively associated with TERI activities in the fields of energy, environment and sustainable development. The E-cell of MRCE in association with National Entrepreneurial Network organizes various Entrepreneurial awareness campaigns and activities and grooms the future entrepreneurs.[28]
Foreign Collaborations
Collaborations has been made with many international Institutes such as Lahti University of Applied Sciences, Algonquin College, University of Central Lancashire and Auckland Institute of Technology[29][30] in terms of sharing expertise on curricula, teaching pedagogy, student projects, research & development, faculty & student exchange, expert lectures, twining programmes etc. These collaborations has been made jointly with other Manav Rachna Educational Institutions.
Epiphany
Epiphany is an intercollegiate cultural and technical festival held each February at MRCE, supported by the Haryana Renewable Energy Department. The event is used as a showcase for the Haryana Renewable Energy Department and local organizations, as well as a forum for engineering workshops, such as the Ethical Hacking Workshop and the Robotics Workshop. The Inter College Music Competition is a highlight of this festival.[31][32]
On 10 July 2009 MRCE became the first college in NCR to start a community radio station,[33] radio Manav Rachna. It is available at FM 107.8 megahertz in National Capital Region (India). It was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Sh. Bhupinder Singh Hooda.[34][35]
MRCE is often mistaken as Manav Rachna International University (MRIU). MRCE and MRIU are both part of Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, but MRCE is an institute affiliated to MDU, Rohtak and MRIU is an Deemed University with a separate administration.[36]
