First she was married to Malayam comedian Jagathy Sreekumar. Later on, she married another Malayalam actor Sukumaran. After her second marriage, she retired from the limelight and became a devoted housewife. After the death of her husband, she came back to the industry again. She started with tele-serials, including Shree Oru Santhwanam, playing an evil mother-in-law.
Her two sons Prithviraj and Indrajith are also well-accepted actors in Malayalam cinema.

Career
The 1974 film Utharayanam by G. Aravindan is Mallika's first film.[1] She was first married to Jagathy Sreekumar. Later she later married the Malayalam actor Sukumaran and left her acting career.
After the demise of her husband, she came back to acting. Her first acting initiative was a tele-serial by K.K. Rajeev called Peythozhiyathe. Later, in real life, she became the mother-in-law of actress Poornima Mohan, who acted in the same tele-serial when Poornima married Mallika's eldest son, Indrajith. Valayam, Snehadooram, Sthree oru santhwanam, and Porutham (etc.) are her popular tele-serials. She also got a film-TV critics award for her role in the serial American Dreams.[1]
Her first movie in her comeback is the Rajasenan movie Meghasandesham. Suresh Gopi was the hero of this movie. Her role in Ranjith's Ammakkilikkoodu was widely appreciated.
Her first movie in Tamil cinema was Vaazhthugal by Sebastian Seeman.[2]
