Maleme Airport (Greek: Αεροδρόμιο Μάλεμε) is an airport situated at Maleme, Crete. It has two runways (13/31) & (03/21) with no lights. The airport is closed for commercial aviation but it's used by Chania Aeroclub. The airport operated until 1959 as the main public airport of Chania. Today the use from the Hellenic Air Force is limited. Maleme Airport is also a historic World War 2 place because it's the place where many German parachuters landed at the Battle of Crete.
