The entire Velike Lašče municipality is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and is now included in the Central Slovenia statistical region.[2]
The local church, built in the Hrastinjaki part of the settlement, is dedicated to Saint James (Slovene: Sveti Jakob) and belongs to the Velike Lašče parish. It is a Baroque building, dating to the mid 17th century.[3]
