Series 1: 2003

Blue Murder began as two 90-minute episodes[7][8] (also known as Series 1), first shown in May 2003, which gained enough viewers for a series.

Janine Lewis, who is forced to put her family concerns aside to investigate the murder of a deputy headmaster found disembowelled on his allotment. A number of suspects and witnesses are soon identified, but tension soon rises in the ranks and Lewis finds herself risking mutiny by the officers under her command. To make matters worse, her troublesome children prove a headache. With three suspects and just 48 hours to crack the case, Janine's professional future looks bleak.
