Jessica Lauren McCabe is an American actress and writer. She is best known for roles in several independent films and television including the show American Dreams and the short film Lure.

Early life

McCabe was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Michael and Rebecca McCabe. She is the oldest of three siblings. She began acting while attending Monrovia High School.

Career

Well versed in theater McCabe's on screen career began as a guest star on the new Dragnet starring Ed O'Neill and Eva Longoria. She followed this up with roles in several independent films including Scorched co-starring alongside Gary Busey before landing the role of Becky O'Connor in American Dreams. She followed this up with a recurring role on the NBC drama Windfall.

She got to show her range with the decidedly dark portrayal of Courtney in the independent short film Lure, which played at the Tribeca Film Festival as well as the London Film Festival and garnered her a win for best actress at the New York Indie Film Fest.

After taking a year off from acting, McCabe returned in 2008/2009. She currently has three films completed in post-production, a role in the TNT television series Dark Blue starring opposite Dylan McDermott, as well as another role in the Emmy Award winning show USAMonk starring Tony Shaloub. She makes her screenwriting debut in the live action 3-D short film, Happy Ending, in which she also stars.
